What is family law?  Family law is the legal field concerning family relationships – marriage, divorce, child custody, adoption, support, and domestic violence, essentially dealing with domestic relations and the legal rights/responsibilities within families, from creation (marriage/adoption) to dissolution (divorce/separation).
